Wellness partnership supports first responder recovery and resilience

Fortem Australia and P3 Recovery have this week launched a partnership that will help support first responder mental health and wellbeing across the country.

Fortem is Australia’s leading independent not-for-profit organisation providing mental health and wellbeing programs for first responders and their families, while P3 Recovery operates wellness centres around the country.

Working together, their partnership will provide opportunities for first responders to access a range of science-backed therapies designed to improve recovery and resilience, while also supporting Fortem’s ongoing program of mental health and wellbeing services.

Fortem CEO Mick Willing APM welcomed the partnership, saying it would enhance Fortem’s social connection program by offering free wellbeing activities where first responders can access P3’s wide range of therapies, including saunas, cold plunge, compression therapy and more.

‘Our evidence-based social connection program aims to boost first responder wellbeing and promote resilience, which aligns closely with P3’s own purpose and values,’ Mick said.

‘We are also delighted that P3 has named Fortem as one of its charities of choice, with all funds raised helping to support our mental health and wellbeing programs for first responders and their families.’

P3 Recovery CEO Paul Goldfinch said their mission has always been to help people feel, live and perform at their best.

‘Our first responders give so much of themselves to help others, yet they are often the ones who put their own wellbeing last,’ Paul said.

By joining forces, we can give back to those who give everything – creating spaces where they can recover, recharge and feel supported. Because recovery is not a luxury, it is essential to health, to performance and to life.’

Paul added that Fortem has been a powerful force for good, supporting first responders and their families through vital mental health and community programs.

‘We are proud to stand alongside Fortem Australia and support those who serve our communities.’

Fortem and P3 Recovery will also work collaboratively with first responders to analyse and report on the impacts of recovery and resilience therapies on first responder health. This will provide useful data on wellness outcomes for P3 Recovery, Fortem and first responder agencies.

As part of the partnership, first responders will also be eligible for discounted access to P3 Recovery centres at scheduled times, as well as for group bookings.

To celebrate this partnership P3 Recovery are opening up every one of their centers on Thursday December 11 and 12 so first responders can come and try a range of recovery services for free all day. To register for your free sessions visit: P3 Recovery first responders open day – Fortem Australia
