Fortem Australia a finalist in the Resilient Australia National Award

Fortem Australia is pleased to announce that we have been selected as a finalist in the 2021 Resilient Australia National Award.

The Resilient Australia Awards program is sponsored by the Australian Institute for Disaster Resilience, in partnership with the Australian Government and the states and territories.

The Australian Institute for Disaster Resilience says, “The Resilient Australia Awards is a nation-wide program that celebrates, shares and promotes initiatives that build and foster community resilience to disasters and emergencies. Since 2000, the awards have showcased innovation and exemplary practice across Australia; celebrating achievements that might otherwise go unseen, and inspiring others to build greater disaster resilience in their own communities.”

Fortem Australia’s inclusion in the list of finalists recognises our work to support the mental health and wellbeing of first responders and their families.

Our team is embedded in the communities most impacted by the Black Summer Bushfires of 2019/20 but come with a broad focus on addressing the known and established patterns of trauma that exist within the first responder community.

The Resilient Australia Awards will be presented on 8 December, and we extend our congratulations and best wishes to all finalists.
